ABOUT
ABOUT ME

I have lived in Vista for 30 years.

I am a mother, wife, businesswoman and a Vista homeowner. I am invested in this community and my goal is to make it easier for the community to be involved in the way that their city is run.

I attended Vista schools and went to college locally  and now my 3 children attend Vista schools as well.

How many of you have heard the statement "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"? How many of you would say that that statement describes our current government? Now, How many of you would like to have a genuine alternative to business as usual in politics?

I'm here to represent the working and middle class American. I stand before you today, not as a politician, but as an average American mother, concerned about the future we are leaving to our children. I am tired of waiting for change.  I am fed up with these political games. And I am here to tell you that I won't play them. I am here to offer a different way of doing things.

WHO I AM

What I can promise to you is transparency and outreach, integrity and inspiration. I'm not afraid to ask tough questions and I won't back down until I get answers. I want to not only think outside of the box, but to do away with the box entirely, if necessary. I wish to change the conversation about what people expect from their government. I will listen to what the community wants. It is my desire to make sure the needs of 'We The People' are represented and protected. That's why I will make myself available to anyone with  concerns so that we can come up with solutions together.

It is not enough to concern ourselves with the filling of potholes and the construction of buildings- as necessary as those things are. What we need is to address how the government is run. We need to make sure that our local government is not just looking out for their own select interests; but for the interests of the working class, the middle class, the poor, our children, our seniors, and our struggling American families.

We need to get practical about where our tax dollars are going. It is important to start thinking for the 7th generation. The choices we make today not only affect us, but every generation after us. It's time to start making decisions that promote a sustainable future. We need to invest in our children.  We may not have enough money to DO a lot of things, but we have enough to STOP a lot of things. We can STOP wasteful spending and reassess where we put our money.

Samuel Adams said, "We are not what we should be. We should labor for the future rather than for the present moment." And I agree.
